Britain Forges New Economic and Political Alliance

Downing Street issued the following statement yesterday:

The Prime Minister will shortly announce a new economic and political alliance for Great Britain, following the weakening of the special relationship with the USA and the departure from the European Union.

Britain will ally itself with three nations in the creation of a new important economic grouping,  which will also take its place at the world's top international organisations including the UN, NATO, and the G8.

The countries are Puerto Rico, New Zealand South Island and Malta. There are particular reasons for this choice. These countries are of considerable importance to Britain because Puerto Rico is close to the USA and will provide a listening post for Westminster, New Zealand South Island is representative of the Commonwealth, whilst Malta is a European country connected to the EU.

The Prime Minister said the choice of counties for this important new alliance – which will bring considerable benefits to hard-working British families shows the government's continuing drive to put Britain at the forefront of global affairs.
