  Downing Street issued the following statement yesterday:   The Prime Minister will shortly announce a new economic and political alliance for Great Britain, following the weakening of the special relationship with the USA and the departure from the European Union. Britain will ally itself with three nations in the creation of a new important economic grouping,  which will also take its place at the world's top international organisations including the UN, NATO, and the G8. The countries are Puerto Rico, New Zealand South Island and Malta. There are particular reasons for this choice.
